Poetry is a Building
If I could write to build you a landmark;
I would write you a poem.
Made of brick, and steel and stones.
Something proud and tall, on the corner of your life.
So that you may enter and see my mind
as my thoughts have designed.
The title would be phrased with your name.
The address marked to where you are.
Foundation planned upon a sturdy story.
Rooms of words formed with carefully planned phrases,
walled within stanzas of floors.
Floors opening ever higher to reach an ultimate height.
This verse of mine, addressed to you.
Securely built; nailed with punctuations.
Rises up to see places we have never been.
Skylines of our futures.
Built to leave a legacy of our love.
