Guys....this is our last entry for the jallikattu series. This was a small attempt to create awareness among all the amazing mirakeeans. Thank you for all your support.
The issue is currently at its peak sensitivity. There has been continuous protests for the past 60 hours and still counting.
The amazing thing about this protest is that there is no leader...no politician in the protest centres and no harassment for girls despite the heavy crowd.

Jallikattu is not a mindless, barbaric game. It is a sociocultural movement against a polished version of animal genocide.
The protesters are not obtuse youth in the mood to bunk classes. They are currently 15lakh people across the state alone with isolated protests in New Delhi, Mumbai, Sri lanka, UK, The US, Canada , Russia , China , Singapore and France.
This fight is not against a single NGO. This is a fight against the cold blooded wipeout of indigenous cattle breeds and the corruption behind it.

It is a certified fact that the white revolution increased milk production country wide. So why does an entire state so spontaneously rise against this? What is so bad about exotic breeds and hybrids that it leads to outright rejection from millions?
These so called exotic breeds produce twice the amount of milk as our breeds but they lactate only 4 times in their entire lifetime whereas our breeds lactate nearly 10 to 15 times...
The exotic breeds require 5 times more water than our breeds. Water which our farmers don't have. These exotic breeds produce milk which does not confer as much immunity as our breeds.
Complete extinction of our bulls would lead to us being totally dependent on foreign corporates for artificial insemination. This means that our entire dairy economy would have to depend on foreign companies..
This means COMPLETE AND UTTER destruction of rural and dairy economy. Our dairy economy earns more revenue than our agri economy. Are we going to lose everything we own to corporates??? Can we afford milk rates decided by them ? Can our farmers afford such milk?
Are we going to make milk a luxury for the below poverty line ? Do we want more farmer suicides?
We have already lost pure indigenous breeds in Punjab and Gujarat. Jallikattu is the only way to preserve them in TamilNadu!!!!

How is this jallikattu conducted ? PETA says that the stud bulls are being mistreated and intoxicated for the game.
Well, the ancient tamil word for jallikattu is yeru thazhuvudhal or bull embracing not bull taming.
The sole purpose of these bulls is breeding. They are not used even for farming. They are well fed. The farmers' family would make do with bare necessities just so the bulls can eat well.
The bull is released from one end of the game field and the player has to hold on to its hump for a specific distance. A player who touches anything other than the hump is disqualified. Any sort of injury to the bull leads to event cancellation.
The bulls are trained to run towards its owner signaling from the other end of the game field. It is NOT given alcohol to make it run wild. The bulls are decorated and WORSHIPPED every year for heaven's sake!!
The bull does not belong to the family. The bull IS family.

Meanwhile PETA, an NGO based in The US states that the massive youth jallikattu uprising in TamilNadu is an orchestrated political event....
There can be no greater insult to this uprising which is a culmination of the continued oppression of our underrepresented minority rural farmers..to save and retain OUR economy.
What is this jallikattu? Why do the urban youth who have no direct connection to jallikattu whatsoever fight tooth and nail all day, all night??
